World Highland Dancing Conference Returns in 2011
Mark your calendar for this unique and popular international event - Oct 7, 8 and 9, 2011. Conference directors Bill Troock and Bill Weaver have taken on the task of putting together yet another even bigger and better Conference, which will offer a variety of sessions you won’t want to miss.
The event will again be held at the newly renovated Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel, which is offering GO Rooms for $129 US per night based on single/double occupancy, additional $30/person/night for triple/quad – max. 4. These rates are guaranteed only until August 15th, 2011. (Taxes not included – currently 12%.) This is a GREAT deal for a quality hotel in Las Vegas. For reservations, call the Flamingo at 1-888-373-9855 and mention the “World Highland Dancing Conference” or meeting code SFWH11 to get the special room rate. Want to book your reservation online? If the Flamingo doesn’t work for you, we suggest you consider any of these other quality hotel/resorts: Caesar’s Palace, Paris Las Vegas, Bally’s, Planet Hollywood or the Planet Hollywood Towers by Westgate, Harrah’s Las Vegas, Imperial Palace or the Rio.
This conference is unlike any other because we offer something for everyone no matter what your role in Highland dancing happens to be: teacher, judge, dancer, parent or organizer, we have something for all. Anyone who has attended this conference in the past will be able to tell you that it really is worth the time and effort to be there if you want an unrivaled selection of workshops, educational sessions and social events. We are also planning on hosting the SOBHD Judge’s Exam (subject to approval) in conjunction with the start of the Conference on Thursday and Friday, October 6th and 7th.
This year we are celebrating “The Evolution of Highland Dancing”. Among the special features will be classes for Premier dancers, a Welcome Reception Friday evening and a Caribbean Night Reception at the pool Saturday immediately following the last session. There will be plenty of exciting sessions, some familiar and some new, packed into these 3 days, something of value for everyone including sessions for teachers, judges, dancers, parents and organizers taught by world renowned teachers and judges and other professionals from all over the world.
Anyone wanting more information can go to our website at www.whdc.us or contact Bill Weaver at weave1wt@cmich.edu or Bill Troock at btroock@telus.net.
We hope to see you there.
